Going home

I am a tired and weary man
Been wandering through this tired old land
I've tried to do the best I can
But  now  . . . I'm going home
I've  wandered east and wandered west
Seen of the worst and of the best
But now I need to make my rest 
So  now  . . .  I'm going  home

Guided by a distant star
I've wandered near  and wandered far 
And every mile has left  a scar

Saw happiness and misery
Saw  those things no-one should see
Things that  never  let you be 
But now  . . .  I'm going home

Going home, where I belong

Saw those whose lives are endless greed
Always want more than they need
They  take the crops then steal the seed
But now  . . .	  I'm going home
Saw endless genorosity 
Those giving of their lives for free
They know the truth of liberty
But now  . . .  they're going home		
			
Going home, I'll soon be gone
Going home, where I belong
Going home, it's been so long	


Saw strength and courage both betrayed
And the price that has been paid	
For all the sacrifices made
Now  . . .	 I'm going home
Saw those whose lives are bleak despair
With deepest darkness everywhere
They've been hurt so much they just don't care
Now  . . .  they're going  home

Saw those who bore	a heavy load
Along this unforgiving  road
And though it hurt it never showed
Now  . . . I'm going home
Life was once just like a dream
But nothing was quite as it seemed
Then reality it intervened

Going where the sky is blue
Where I'll always be with you
